3 spring styles that Los Angeles girls wear
Welcome to The big test. With spring on the horizon, we took the opportunity to try on the best products from our favorite brands at Nordstrom and document the process. We believe that the most reliable way to shop online is to see what a product looks like in person and read honest reviews, so we hope this will lead you to successful spring shopping.
After living in Los Angeles for almost 12 years, I fell in love with the California girls’ fashion aesthetic. It’s laid back (casual, but not tacky), a bit colorful, and definitely on-trend. In my opinion, the Staud brand from Los Angeles does this best. Her collections always spark joy with their color palettes, fun details and unique prints. The spring new items available at Nordstrom are a 10 out of 10 and just what my closet needs. Poplin shirts, wedding guest dresses, date night tops – it’s all here, and I’ve guessed which pieces to buy this season by trying them all on for you. I won’t lie if I say I don’t have any notes.
This outfit is pretty much every LA girl’s outfit: baggy jeans, white top and sandals. But because it’s from Staud, all the details feel cooler than your average wardrobe staple. The poplin top has puffed sleeves and snaps in all the right places, and the cargo pockets on the jeans – which are… So by the way, soft – very fashionable.
Since it’s not warm enough (even in sunny Los Angeles) to wear this outfit without an extra layer, I added this striped zip-up sweater. This blue and yellow color scheme gives me a seaside grandma vibe and I’m here for it.

We have a lot of spring and summer weddings coming up and until recently I didn’t have any dresses to wear to them. Since there are so few opportunities to really dress up, I like to go to weddings in full. This Staud dress couldn’t be more beautiful. I feel like it was made for me. Between the rich navy blue shade, the halter neckline, and those beaded straps (like gorg?), I never want to take this dress off my body.
Let’s spend another moment on the cleavage, because I really can’t get enough of it. I really like this dress with silver accessories like heels, bag and jewelry, it makes it look more elegant.

Cadence Beaded Sleeveless Satin Maxi Dress
I regularly reach for matching sets because they are so simple and chic. This one from Staud will be my new office outfit. The button-down blouse and midi skirt are polished, and the fabric has a nice weight (read: not see-through).
For work, I’d pair this outfit with a blazer and high-heeled sandals or pointed-toe pumps, but on the weekends it’ll look just as cute with flat, chunky sandals and no jacket.
